Dr SNK Chenduran @ Kirthi is a young and energetic consultant Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopist with a special interest in the field of therapeutic /interventional gastroenterology mainly Third Space Endoscopy and dedicated to exemplary patient outcomes. He’s currently the senior consultant at Apollo Hospitals Trichy, CEO of Shewtha Speciality Hospital, Thillai nagar Trichy and Visiting consultant at Dr Rela Institute and medical center, Chennai.

He completed his MBBS from RMMC, Chidambaram; MD from VMMC, Karaikal; DM from MMCH&RI, Kanchipuram; Fellowship in GI Third Space Endoscopy from Jichi Medical University, Japan. Fellowship in advanced Therapeutic lower GI endoscopy from Sheffield medical university, UK.

He’s the first to do third space endoscopy - POEM, STER and ESD in Trichy and other delta regions and continues to be the only one to do the same outside Chennai and Coimbatore and has a sizeable number of POEM procedures (50+) to his expertise,

Adding to his credit, he’s the first in the state to remove a 3.2 cm tumor (leiomyoma) as a whole from the esophagus endoscopically.
He is also the first in the state to do PEN(pancreatic endoscopic necrosectomy) outside Chennai.
He’s received the Best Doctor award “MARUTHUVA NATCHATHIRAM 2023”
He’s the first in the state of Tamil Nadu to perform RPOES (readily per oral endoscopic septotomy) for Zenker Diverticulum with short pouch for Orophrayngeal Dysphagia.

He does several therapeutic EUS(Endoscopic Ultrasound) including fine needle biopsy(FNB), cystogastrostomy, pancreaticonecrosectomy and ERCPs including balloon sphincteroplasty, biliary and pancreatic stent insertions and large stone management with lithotripsy and has sizeable expertise in using of Cholangioscopy(SPYGLASS).

Management of Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD):He has a sizeable experience of multimodality treatment of complex, difficult problems including the use of biologics.
He has performed in excess of 4000 colonoscopies with an ileal intubation rate of over 99%.

Also has rich experience in interventions involving GI cancers like esophageal stenting, enteral stenting, biliary stenting and colonic stenting.

He has been an invited faculty in several National and International conferences, workshops and has several posters and publications to his credit which demonstrates his passion, dedication and enthusiasm for academics and research.
